Greetings from Mossebo, Sweden
The Mossebo Hembygdsförening (Local History Socitey of Mossebo was founded 1998 and counts about 80 members. Mossebo is situated in Western Sweden (Tranemo County in the Västergötland Province) 50 kms south Borås and Ulricehamn, 60 kms to Jönköping and 110 kms to Gothenburg/Göteborg (90 kms to the Gothenburg Airport). Did your ancestors come from Mossebo? In our book about Mossebo "Mossebo - kyrkan, bygden, folket" you may be able to learn more about them and your family plus the farm and area they left. The book, issued in 1994, size A4 (11 3/4" x 8 1/4"), consists of 560 pages, names and dates of birth etc of all inhabitants in Mossebo 1750 - 1994. There is an index covering 4 500 names, and about 400 photographs. The text describes the church, schools, the noble mansions, the inn at Grönhult, the Bollsjö Glassmill and much more. The main part of the book covers the various farms, homesteads, crofthouses and their inhabitants. We are more than happy to supply you with the book. Prepayment is required.
